Just like Isaac Newton during the Great Plague, our determined Year 12 students have hunkered down, immersing themselves in the research phase of their EE.
Today, our new Year 12 students had their 2nd formal introduction to the IB Extended Essay. The Extended Essay Process was explained visually and the students were encouraged to use Mind Mapping to begin to explore their ideas.

They were shown the brand new Extended Essay Hub and introduced to their Researcher’s Reflection Space on Managebac.
On Saturday morning all the Year 12 students attended our first ever EE Proposal Writing Workshop in the Senior Library.
The Librarian and EE Coordinator Mr Bull, Head of Science Ms Cogbill and Learning Enrichment Coordinator Ms Wood helped students fine-tune their proposals ahead of the Christmas Break.
Today, Year 12 E.E. students took a tour of 100 Search Engines for Academic Research from the College Library Blog.
In preparation for writing their essay proposal, students scanned the list and identified three potentially useful academic search engines and added these with a summary to their Researcher’s Reflection Space on Managebac.
